The HouseMaster Inspection Resource Guide™: Tools for Understanding Your Report
As part of our dedication to total customer satisfaction, each HouseMaster home inspection client will receive a comprehensive inspection report guide. This document, called the HouseMaster Inspection Resource Guide™, is a unique package designed to help inspection clients better understand the inspection process, participate in the inspection, and understand their report findings. While other companies include an inspection report guide in the form of a binder with their inspections, HouseMaster's Guide is far more in-depth than others available and includes the following sections:
Section One: Room Layout Grid and Notes Section. This section includes a grid, a pencil and area for clients to take notes. The home inspection is often used as an opportunity for home buyers to take exact room measurements and window measurements so they can begin planning for furniture placement and curtains or blinds. To this end, HouseMaster includes a convenient grid to assist in this effort. HouseMaster customers are also encouraged to jot down questions and their ensuing answers as they go along so they can be certain all their questions are addressed.
Section Two: Section two is designed to help customers better understand the inspection process. Information in this section highlights what a home inspection is and is not and provides guidance on what buyers should do after their inspection. A pre-closing checklist is also included to help buyers do a careful inspection of the home the day of closing.
Section Three: Many inspection report guides include general information on the cost of common repairs. While this information is helpful it can be found on most home center websites and it doesn't add significant value to the inspection. Instead, HouseMaster includes statistics on the most common home repairs found in homes, categorized by the age of the home and compiled from over 2000 HouseMaster home inspections. These statistics add great value to the inspection because consumers can compare them with the findings of their report and assess how the condition of their new home stacks up to similar homes.
Section Four: Section four includes a Guide to the HouseMaster DVD entitled "Repairs You Can Do Yourself" which is included in the Inspection Resource Guide. The Guide reviews all 15 of the repairs included on the DVD along with a list of materials that will be needed if you decided to tackle the job yourself.
The HouseMaster Inspection Resource Guide is a one of a kind tool that can't be compared to any other repair book or inspection report guide used in the marketplace today.
