HouseMaster, the nation's first and oldest home inspection franchise, has been named the No. 1 home inspection franchise in Entrepreneur magazine's Franchise 500® for the third straight year and ranked No. 181 overall. HouseMaster has ranked number one on Entrepreneur's annual list more times than any other home inspection franchise.
The rankings for all 500 companies are determined using an exclusive formula that takes into account objective and quantifiable factors, including financial strength and stability, growth rate and size of the system. The franchise companies that continue to thrive despite a slowly recovering economy are those that provide the most value to the consumer and boast low start-up costs, including the ability to work from home, both hallmarks of the HouseMaster Franchise System.
"The Entrepreneur rankings are extremely gratifying," said President Kathleen Kuhn who recently marked 25 years at the company founded by her father in 1979. "We work hard every year to build the HouseMaster brand and help our franchisees reach their personal and professional goals and it's humbling to see that success acknowledged by such a noteworthy publication."
With the real estate market in flux, the demand for professional home inspections remained strong in 2010 as cautious buyers and sellers took added steps to protect their investments. Prudent home buyers translated into steady unit growth for HouseMaster throughout the first full year of economic recovery.
