Bill Eaton was awesome. This inspection was for a first time home buyer with not a lot of experience in home repair & maintenance. Bill emphasized the importance of maintaining a home, which I thought was great. He was very knowledgeable & I just couldn't be happier with the way he explained things to my client. Great job!

I have received and reviewed the inspection document with my thanks. Prior to my retirement I was Vice President with ThyssenKrupp elevator/escalator for western Canada. I have been around the construction industry all my life so I can review this report with an educated eye.

The report is a good document and the inspector did a nice job of articulating the condition of the property. As the seller and their agent have both mentioned a new roof along with complete new bathrooms in 2006 (but, then)after reviewing the inspector's comments and looking at his photos, I can almost, with certainty, say neither (claim) is a true statement. My point of view is this property appears to be almost a gut and renew type situation. In the same year (2006) my primary home here in Calgary had a new cedar shake roof along with all four baths being remodelled and even with the drastic change in our weather my roof and the baths look exactly as they did just after completion. Is there any way I could have a conversation with the inspector over the phone.

I was very happy with everything. When I called, Will gave me more information than the other place I had called and gave it to me without me asking. I liked that. Most comprehensive inspection in town. These people know how to inspect a home. Worth every penny. They saved me from making a grave mistake on the first house that I was interested in purchasing. The second home inspection uncovered issues that I had the seller repair which would have cost me several thousand dollars. I have been living in my current home for the last six months and have not found any missed items or issues. I just wanted to share our experience with your service before we close later this week and get totally immersed in the whirlwind of moving to our next residence. Ever since we learned the value of home inspections when we sold a home in Georgia in 2000, we won't buy a property, whether we're going to live in it or we plan to rent it to other families, without arming ourselves with a HouseMaster inspection report. In this case, the inspection really paid off! This is the oldest house we've bought in years, and Hal and Chuck found lots of things, both little and big, that need work. As veterans of negotiation, we were able to sort the items into two lists: those that require immediate attention and all those older-house idiosyncrasies that Jim can take care of over time. We were then able to get a break in the home's purchase price that just about covers what we'll have to pay for repairs while letting the sellers walk away feeling they did all right in the negotiations too. In fact, the information we got from our report saved us almost 10 times as much as the inspection cost, so it was definitely a bargain! Indeed, it was a shock to the sellers how much work the house needed, but as I said, that's the same lesson we learned in 2000. It's a part of home ownership and home selling that all homeowners would do well to pay attention to, before a buyer comes along and shows them what they've been living with for all those years! Meantime, I want to say that everyone at HouseMaster treats us right! Back in 2003, John did a great job on a duplex inspection for us; this time William took care of all the paperwork and set up the appointment for this inspection; and we always enjoy the information in the e-mail newsletter! You folks have it all together, and we're not going to forget that! And congratulations, Chuck, on getting your AZ license! We're kind of proud that our property was part of your qualifying for that! You do great work!
