Comprehensive Training

As the HouseMaster Home Inspection Service office for Virginia Beach and Chesapeake, we know that quality service is the result of experience, hard work and dedication. Our team of inspectors is held to the highest standards of training. Our inspectors are vigorously trained and re-certified annually through the National Institute of Building Inspectors (NIBI), a New Jersey based comprehensive training regimen. NIBI training is the finest and most rigorous in the industry. NIBI stands alone in requiring the inspectors it has trained to pass an annual exam as a requirement of re-certification. We have a dedicated staff of Technical advisors who support our inspectors in the field on a full-time basis, and we are always looking for opportunities to share our technical experience with home buyers, home owners, and real estate professionals through our website and monthly e-newsletter. Additionally, our inspectors are required to remain a member in good standing in at least one of the nationally recognized trade organizations, such as the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors (NACHI).

Properly Insured

In addition to General Liability, Workmans Comp, and Commercial Auto insurance policies, Housemaster's NIBI Certified inspectors are also required to maintain professional liability insurance, known as Errors and Omissions coverage, or E & O for short. Sadly, few of our local Virginia Beach / Chesapeake competitors maintain E & O insurance. This policy is in essence our "malpractice insurance". Most professionals who offer opinions in their business are required to have those opinions insured via Professional Liability Insurance. Unfortunately, the Commonwealth of Virginia does not require Home Inspectors to insure their findings. So, few do. We at HouseMaster are among the very few who act responsibly to protect not only ourselves, but our clients and referral sources as well by having the proper insurance to stand behind our findings.

HouseMaster provides a comprehensive, state-of-the-art computer generated report to clients with each home inspection. This detailed, yet easy to read home inspection report includes photos and may be retrieved online via a password protected website. We provide our exclusive Inspection Resource Guide to each of our clients at the inspection. This comprehensive book is more than just a simple report cover, it includes numerous tools to help our customers understand their inspection and their home's maintenance requirements. Among the tools is an instructional DVD to walk homeowners through making 15 common household repairs.
